PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH WALK - Event Recap Located at Magnuson Park; a 350-acre park on Sand Point, Lake Washington, in the Sand Point neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The park is the second largest in Seattle! It is located on the spot of the former Naval Station Puget Sound. This park was perfect for a 5k! 2 laps around the course would complete the race. It was great to see all of the vendors and a special surprise from Top Pot Donuts. They donated 20 box of white and purple sprinkled treats. The Foundation provided me with a stage and generator to keep me powered and keep the runners motivated to walk/run. This event was tough for me having lost my mother to cancer last September. It was awesome seeing all of the survivors and hearing how the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is dedicated to cutting edge research and treatments to find a cure. Special Guest Speaker Dr. Pillarisetty, who is a Surgical oncologist who specializes in pancreatic cancer surgery. He has been at the University of Washington and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) for 10 years and serves as the medical Director of Continuous Performance Improvement at the SCCA. He has a research Laboratory where he studies the body’s immune response to Pancreatic Cancer and is developing new strategies to activate it against the cancer. With the magic of Facebook, I was able to ask for online donations and my awesome Fans and family raised $175 for the Foundation, and the 2019 Seattle Walk raised over $30,000! Thank you to everyone that donated MUSIC SELECTIONS This playlist was curated to keep the runners motivated and in a great mood to keep the path towards the finish line.
If this playlist don’t make your body move, Your body must me dead! Special thanks to Lisa Crowley and Melissa Roeters for organizing such a fantastic fundraiser. TASHA AND MIKE | DUPONT, WALocated just outside of Dupont and not very far south of Tacoma, Sam Adams at Eagles Pride Golf Course sits hidden just off Interstate 5. The Eagles Pride Golf Course Event Center hosts weddings, private parties, and other events. Tasha and Mike chose to have their ceremony on the grass just outside the Event Center, saying “I Do” on a beautiful April day amongst family and friends. Inside the Eagles Pride Event Center, the reception was set up and the dance floor was ready! After coordinating music for their short outdoor ceremony, I moved inside to bring the funk to the reception. Tasha and Mike had a great crowd. People of all ages…kids, adults, elders…everybody shook a little something and boogied down! The night was a blast, and I’m looking forward to helping with a Sweet 16 for Tasha & Mike’s daughter soon. It makes me happy when couples are so comfortable with my service, that they wouldn’t hesitate to collaborate on future event music needs. Thanks guys, I appreciate you! Congrats to Tasha and Mike on a beautiful day! MUSIC SELECTIONS
Tasha wanted to pick out most of these songs, but she did request my help with some parts of the process. For the Mother/Son dance, I helped the groom, Mike, by sending him a list of songs tailored to what I know so far about his style. From there, he and his mom enjoyed picking one to share their special moment! This is a huge part of what I love about my job…making people happy! IN THEIR WORDS“We were SO lucky to have Joe, aka DJ Diph, at our April 2019 wedding! He was communicative and worked with me every step of the way to make our music something that was special to us…and unique to our crowd. The music he played fueled the fun had by all on our wedding day! We would highly recommend DJ Diph if you are looking for fun, attentive, and affordable DJ.” - Tasha Stukes-Silverman |
